Avesta\u2019n\u0131n en eski metinleri oldu\u011fu belirtilen G\u00e2talar\u0131n M\u00d6 1700\u2019l\u00fc y\u0131llarda derlendi\u011fi tahmin edilen Hindu Veda metinleriyle ayn\u0131 d\u00f6nemde olu\u015fturuldu\u011fu s\u00f6ylenmektedir. G\u00e2talar d\u0131\u015f\u0131ndaki di\u011fer Avesta metinleri ise sonradan farkl\u0131 d\u00f6nemlerde olu\u015fturulmu\u015ftur. G\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcze ula\u015fan Avesta\u2019n\u0131n, Partlarla\/A\u015fkanilerle (M\u00d6 247-MS 224) ba\u015flayan Sasanilerle (224-651) tamamlanan tedvin \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131n \u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fc oldu\u011fu ifade edilmektedir. Avesta, Sasanilerde 21 b\u00f6l\u00fcm \u015feklinde geni\u015f bir kitap koleksiyonundan meydana gelmi\u015fti.
