Sultan Murad\u2019\u0131n torunu olan b\u00fcy\u00fckbabam Ahmed Nihad Efendi de sarayda d\u00fcnyaya geldi ve hayat\u0131n\u0131n ilk yirmi bir senesi, d\u0131\u015far\u0131daki d\u00fcnyay\u0131 g\u00f6rmedi. \u015eimdi neredeyse y\u00fcz elli y\u0131l sonra ben de ecdad\u0131m\u0131n saray\u0131n\u0131n kar\u015f\u0131s\u0131nda, Bo\u011faz\u2019\u0131n Anadolu yakas\u0131ndaki kona\u011f\u0131mda hat\u0131rat\u0131m\u0131 kaleme al\u0131yorum.\u201d Osman Selahaddin Osmano\u011flu Osmanl\u0131 tarihinde babas\u0131 \u015fehzade, annesi sultan olan tek \u015fehzadedir. Babas\u0131 Ali V\u00e2s\u0131b Efendi, Sultan V. Murad\u2019\u0131n torununun o\u011flu, annesi Emine Mukbile Sultan ise Sultan V. Mehmed Re\u015fad\u2019\u0131n torunudur. Osmanl\u0131 ailesinin mecbur tutuldu\u011fu s\u00fcrg\u00fcn sebebiyle d\u00fcnyaya g\u00f6zlerini vatan topraklar\u0131n\u0131n d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda a\u00e7mak zorunda kalan Osman Selahaddin Osmano\u011flu, \u201cS\u00fcrg\u00fcnden Anavatana\u201d ba\u015fl\u0131kl\u0131 hat\u0131rat\u0131nda uzun bir \u00f6mr\u00fcn muhasebesini yap\u0131yor. \u00c7ocuklu\u011funu ve ilk gen\u00e7li\u011fini ge\u00e7irdi\u011fi \u0130skenderiye g\u00fcnlerini, \u0130ngiltere\u2019de finans y\u00f6netimi alan\u0131nda \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131 y\u0131llar\u0131 ve nihayet \u00f6mr\u00fcn\u00fcn T\u00fcrkiye\u2019ye yerle\u015ftikten sonraki devresini anlat\u0131yor.
