Hen\u00fcz 12 ya\u015f\u0131ndayken Amasya, Tokat, Sivas, \u00c7orum ve Osmanc\u0131k b\u00f6lgelerini i\u00e7ine alan Rum vil\u00e2yeti beyli\u011fiyle vazifelendirildikten bir sene sonra B\u00f6rkl\u00fcce Mustafa \u0130syan\u0131\u2019n\u0131 bast\u0131rmakla g\u00f6revlendirildi. Tahta ge\u00e7ti\u011finde hen\u00fcz 18\u2019li ya\u015flar\u0131ndayd\u0131. \u00c7a\u011fda\u015f kaynaklar\u0131n adalet ve merhametine, \u015fecaat ve kudretine s\u0131kl\u0131kla vurgu yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 Sultan II. Murad bir taraftan Anadolu\u2019da birli\u011fi sa\u011flamaya gayret g\u00f6sterirken di\u011fer taraftan da Balkanlar\u2019da fetihlere devam ediyordu. Osmanl\u0131 \u00fclkesinde bir\u00e7ok vakf\u0131 ve hayrat\u0131 bulunan sultan, halk\u0131n sorunlar\u0131yla yak\u0131ndan ilgileniyor, dervi\u015f ve s\u00fbf\u00eelerle irtibat h\u00e2linde bulunuyor, \u00e2lim ve m\u00fctefekkirleri him\u00e2ye ediyordu. II. Murad\u2019\u0131n ilk zamanlar\u0131 ve tahta c\u00fcl\u00fbsu, \u015eehzade Mustafa \u0130syan\u0131, \u0130stanbul Ku\u015fatmas\u0131, Eflak, Arnavutluk ve Mora\u2019ya seferleri, Sel\u00e2nik\u2019i fethi, Karamano\u011fullar\u0131 ve di\u011fer beyliklerle m\u00fcnasebetleri, Varna ve II. Kosova Sava\u015f\u0131, gelece\u011fin Fatih Sultan Mehmed\u2019i olan o\u011flu II. Mehmed\u2019e taht\u0131n\u0131 b\u0131rakmas\u0131 gibi konular\u0131n canl\u0131 bir \u00fcslupla incelendi\u011fi bu kitap Sultan II. Murad devrinin devlet ve id\u00e2re adamlar\u0131, Osmanl\u0131larda edeb\u00ee cereyanlar, 15. y\u00fczy\u0131l \u00e2lim ve \u015fairlerinin yan\u0131 s\u0131ra yine bu y\u00fczy\u0131lda Osmanl\u0131lardaki tasavvuf cereyan\u0131n\u0131 da akademik bir titizlikle i\u015fliyor.
