Yine \u0130sl\u00e2m co\u011frafyac\u0131lar\u0131ndan \u0130bn R\u00fcste\u2019nin el-\u00c2l\u00e2ku\u2019n-Nef\u00eese adl\u0131 eseri, verdi\u011fi bilgilerin do\u011frulu\u011fu yan\u0131nda, en eski ve \u00e7a\u011fda\u015f kayna\u011f\u0131m\u0131zd\u0131r. Eserde, Bulgar \u00fclkesi co\u011fraf\u00ee olarak tasvir edildi\u011fi gibi, \u00fclkenin ticareti hakk\u0131nda da \u00f6nemli bilgiler bulunmaktad\u0131r. Hicri 300 (913) y\u0131l\u0131ndan sonra \u00f6ld\u00fc\u011f\u00fc tahmin edilen \u0130bn R\u00fcste\u2019nin verdi\u011fi bilgilerden, o y\u0131llarda Bulgarlar\u0131n M\u00fcsl\u00fcman olduklar\u0131n\u0131 ve \u00fclkelerinde \u00e7e\u015fitli \u0130slam m\u00fcesseseleri kurduklar\u0131n\u0131 \u00f6\u011frenmek m\u00fcmk\u00fcn olmaktad\u0131r. \u0130dil Bulgarlar\u0131 ve \u0130sl\u00e2miyet adl\u0131 bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmada kullan\u0131lan temel kaynaklardan \u00fc\u00e7\u00fcnc\u00fcs\u00fc olan Mur\u00fbc\u00fc\u2019z-Zeheb\u2019in m\u00fcellifi el-Mes\u2019\u00fbd\u00ee de hayat\u0131 boyunca bir\u00e7ok \u00fclke gezmi\u015ftir.
