Growth is life, and life is for ever destined to make for light. The journey of White Fang, a wolf-dog, shows the meaning of civilization at the end of the 19th century through his experiences with humans and wild animals. The loss of his family teaches him the first rule of survival – kill or to be killed. After having tough times with his cruel master and man- gods, he accepts that he should obey their laws.
